A NOTE FROM HEAD COACH NICK VELIADES

Dear swimmers and families,
I hope every one is healthy and keeping active over this period.
Whilst our lives have been thrown upside-down we do have choices (as we always do), on each end of the spectrum of those choices we can whinge and moan and make excuses as to why we can’t do things and how unfair life is - or we can make the most of the given situation and use the time to improve ourselves in some capacity and learn something about ourselves or simply learn a new skill.
If nothing else these past few weeks should have given us a new found appreciation for our freedom (beyond our 5km radius) and an appreciation for face to face contact with friends and our training groups.
With COVID cases dropping now and stage 4 restrictions coming to an end soon, I'm sure everyone is looking forward to resuming group training in the near future.
Combine that with the weather slowly warming up into the summer months, lets use this as added motivation to stick with the current dry-land program, staying connected with your friends and keeping up your strength and fitness, in anticipation of our return to the pool.
If there are swimmers out there struggling mentally please reach out to your coach for a chat, otherwise we hope to see you at the pool soon!!
Regards
Nick Veliades
