About Us

MLC Aquatic is a community based competitive swimming club that trains predominantly at MLC in Kew. The Club promotes the development of swimmers of all genders, at every stage, from Learn to Swim at MLC Swim School through to National Teams.  We have excellent facilities and inclusive programs to provide swimmers of all abilities with great opportunities.

We are very proud to be led by Gold Licence Head Coach Nick Veliades who is supported by Gold Licence coach Bobby Folan and Silver Licence coach Jayden Brian.

We pride ourselves on our positive club culture which is built around respect, commitment, unity and communication. We aim to facilitate a positive, team based learning environment across our club structure to assist our athletes in reaching their potential. The coaching staff prescribe a balanced training program based off world leading practices and are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to create growth and improvement in our athletes. Another key quality is the ability of the coaches to adjust training needs to acommodate academic requirements.

In the 2019 Australia Age Nationals MLC Aquatic was overall 4th Club in Australia and 2nd Victorian Club on combined scores.  Gabi Peiniger and Noah Millard were both selected to represent Australia on the Junior World team along with coach Nick Veliades.

In 2018 David Schlicht was selected to represent Australia on the Australian World Short Course Team.

For girls MLC Aquatic was 3rd in Australia and First Victorian Club.
