MLC Aquatic is committed to the safety, participation and empowerment of all children. All members of our community, including employees, contractors, agency staff and volunteers, have an important role in providing children or young people with a safe and nurturing environment in which to prosper and thrive. MLC Aquatic has zero tolerance of child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently within our policies and procedures and the Swimming Australia – Safe Sport Framework. MLC Aquatic has a duty of care to protect the safety and welfare of all children and is committed to preventing child abuse through identifying risks early, and removing and reducing these risks. We have robust human resources and recruitment practices, supported by regular training and development.

We support and respect all children, as well as all members of our community. We are committed to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, the cultural safety of children from a culturally and/or linguistically diverse background, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability.


All parents/volunteers of MLC Aquatic swimmers and all swimmers over the age of 18 upon re-registration or joining the club agree to the “MLC Aquatic Parent Volunteers Agreement” set out below.


All members/parents/volunteers are bound by the following policies which can be read here by clicking the links:

By accepting the terms of this agreement you declare that you have not:


· Been found guilty by a Court of a sexual offence or an offence against the person (including a student or child);

· Been dismissed, retired or resigned from any previous employment or volunteer role following allegations that you were involved in improper conduct of a sexual or violent nature with a student or child; or

· Been found guilty by a Court or been dismissed, retired or resigned from any previous employment or volunteer role for any reason relating to the distribution of illicit drugs; or

· Been found guilty by a Court or been dismissed, retired or resigned from any previous employment or volunteer role for any reason relating to dishonesty including improper dealings with or misuse of an employer’s resources.

· Do not have any criminal charges pending before the Courts;

· Am not currently serving a sanction for anti-doping rule violation under an ASADA approved anti-doping Policy applicable to me;

· I will not participate in, facilitate or encourage any practice prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency Code or any other ASADA approved anti-doping Policy applicable to me.

· To my knowledge there is no matter that MLC Aquatic, Swimming Victoria or Swimming Australia may consider constituting a risk to its members, employees, volunteers, athletes or reputation by engaging me in a paid or voluntary position;

· I will notify the President of my Club or Area immediately upon becoming aware that any matters set out above have changed.

Any pertinent information regarding child safety is to be reported to the Club President. The Club President will report concerns to the MLC College “designated contact”, Carol Osborn, and the notifying and reasons for those concerns. The College will then take immediate action to respond to the issue to ensure immediate safety of the child.
